A rare two-light floor lamp attributed to Pierre Jeanneret for Chandigarh, India. Constructed in solid teak, the lamp features a tall central upright, a transverse arm supporting two opposing painted-metal shades, an integrated lower shelf and a broad square base. The form corresponds to the Chandigarh “Standard Lamp,” designed during the mid-1950s for use in public and institutional interiors. The red and yellow shades provide upward and downward illumination. A painted inventory stencil on the lower upright reads approximately “PGI/CH 68” with “B” below, strongly indicating use at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh.
